Hunter and Stoll cancel wedding

NEW YORK, June 24 (UPI) -- Rachel Hunter's publicist said Wednesday the New Zealand-born supermodel and her Canadian hockey player beau Jarret Stoll have canceled their wedding plans.

The couple announced their engagement last summer after dating for about two years. Hunter was previously married to rocker Rod Stewart. She and Stewart are the parents of two teenage children.

"Can Associates Limited regret to inform you that the August wedding of Rachel Hunter and Jarret Stoll has been canceled and the couple have decided to split," Hunter's representative said in a statement issued to People magazine. "We ask you to respect Rachel and her family's privacy during this extremely upsetting time."

The publicist's confirmation came on the Los Angeles Kings center's 27th birthday. Hunter is 39.
