Poll: Cliff Huxtable is No. 1 TV dad

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 19 (UPI) -- Bill Cosby's small-screen alter ego Cliff Huxtable from "The Cosby Show" is America's favorite television dad, a Harris poll indicated.

Harris Interactive said it surveyed 2,681 U.S. adults online May 11-18.

Asked the question, "Thinking of television fathers, who would you most like to have had as a dad when you were growing up?" Huxtable ranked No. 1 by respondents.

Coming in at No. 2 is Ward Cleaver from "Leave it to Beaver," followed by Jim Anderson from "Father Knows Best" at No. 3, Andy Taylor from "The Andy Griffith Show at No. 4 and Ozzie Nelson from "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" at No. 5.

Rounding out the top tier are Mike Brady from "The Brady Bunch" at No. 6, Howard Cunningham from "Happy Days" at No. 7, Charles Ingalls from "Little House on the Prairie" at No. 8, Ben Cartwright from "Bonanza" at No. 9 and Tim Taylor from "Home Improvement" at No. 10.
