LONDON, June 10 (UPI) -- The British rock band Depeche Mode has resumed its tour after front man Dave Gahan's surgery to remove a low-grade malignant tumor from his bladder.

The band postponed 12 concerts on its Tour of the Universe due to Gahan's illness and recovery, but the BBC said the musicians this week began performing again in Leipzig, Germany.

"Being back onstage is an incredible feeling and I'm looking forward to each and every show," the BBC quoted Gahan as saying during his first concert back.

The band is to perform in Berlin Wednesday.
