LOS ANGELES, June 6 (UPI) -- British actress Rachel Weisz says people facing hard times need entertainment to help them "escape" from their stressful lives.
The 39-year-old actress can now be seen on screen in the film, "The Brothers Bloom," which she describes as a lighthearted film about a con artist job, Parade magazine reported online Saturday.
"It's such hard times right now, people need to escape," Weisz said. "People have to be able to forget their bank accounts and their worries -- all the stress on their minds. They need entertainment."
"The Constant Gardener" actress admits for her new film she was forced to learn how to play the accordion, as well as rap and play ping-pong. But Weisz insists such efforts are part of her approach to acting.
"You have to surrender," she told Parade. "Once I'm working with a director, he has my trust. I say, 'OK, let's go on this ride. Let's see what happens.'"
