BANGKOK, June 6 (UPI) -- A manager of a Bangkok hotel says U.S. actor David Carradine appeared "full of life" in the days leading up to his death.
Swissotel Nai Lert Park general manager Aurelio Giraudo said the "Kill Bill" actor even spent three days at the hotel this week entertaining guests by playing the grand piano in the hotel's lobby, People.com reported Friday.
"He was a great piano player," Giraudo said of Carradine, who was found dead in a hotel suite Thursday. "He was a man full of life. He was a very happy man. His face is smiling. A big smile."
Meanwhile, authorities in Thailand are attempting to piece together the final moments of the "Kung Fu" star's death.
Carradine was found hanged in the hotel room with one rope around his genitals and another around his neck, police said.
"The room was a very normal hotel room," police Col. Somprasong Yenthuam said regarding the death of the 72-year-old actor. "Nothing seemed unusual, nothing seemed to have disappeared. The truth is, it was a very sad hanging."
The Hollywood Reporter said Carradine's death has prompted recasting efforts for the film drama "Portland," which was to be the actor's next production.
