CHICAGO, May 15 (UPI) -- The wife of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is reconsidering being a contestant on an NBC reality show in June, her attorney says.

Attorney Raymond Pijon said a deal with NBC was "off the front burner" as of last month but he told the Chicago Sun-Times on Thursday that some of the producers are trying to ensnare Patti Blagojevich "to be part of the venture."

NBC executives are in last-minute discussions with the former Illinois first lady to appear on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" that will be filmed in Costa Rica, sources have told the Sun-Times.

The sources say Patti is traveling to Los Angeles to discuss the details.

One lawyer in the Blagojevich case said: "Frankly, they need the money."
