Shatner is scheduled to take part in a book signing to correspond with National Free Comic Book Day Saturday at Golden Apple Comic in Los Angeles, organizers said.

Free Comic Book Day is the annual promotion sponsored by Diamond Distributors, in which participating comic book shops around the world are to give away comic books free to anyone who comes into their stores.

Bluewater Productions and Shatner are providing a free 32-page comic for the occasion.

The highlight of the book will be an original story prologue from the upcoming "Tek War" series, they said. The book will also feature previews of the other Shatner-based comic series, "Quest for Tomorrow" and "Man O' War," as well as a sneak peek of a yet-untitled original story developed by Shatner.

Shatner will be producing and editing each of the series with Craig Nevius.
