NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- "Impressionism," a new American play by Michael Jacobs, is set to close at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre May 10, show representatives said.
Starring Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons, it will have played 23 previews and 56 regular performances.
Directed by Jack O'Brien, the play's cast features Marsha Mason, Andre De Shields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva and Hadley Delany. Previews began Feb. 28 and the play opened March 24.
The production marks Allen's first return to Broadway since "The Heidi Chronicles" in 1989, and Irons' first time on Broadway since "The Real Thing" in 1984.
"Impressionism" is about a globe-trotting photojournalist and a New York gallery owner who discover each other and learn there might be an art to repairing broken lives, show notes said.
