LONDON, April 17 (UPI) -- Susan Boyle, the Scottish woman who became an unlikely celebrity after a heartwarming appearance on "Britain's Got Talent," won't be getting a makeover.

"Talent" judge Amanda Holden said part of the 47-year-old church volunteer's appeal is that she is an ordinary-looking woman with an extraordinary voice.

"I won't let Simon Cowell take her to his dentist and I certainly won't let her near his hairdresser," Holden told Britain's Mirror newspaper.

"(She) needs to stay exactly as she is because that's the reason we love her," Holden said. "She just looks like anybody who could live on your street. ... The minute we turn her into a glamour-puss is when it's spoiled."

The judge went on to say that perhaps Boyle will get a new look when she signs a record deal and after she's "conquered America."

"For now, we'll keep her exactly as she is because that's why we've all fallen in love with her. I think it's the underdog thing," Holden said.

As of Friday morning, a clip of Boyle's appearance on "Talent" last weekend had been viewed more than 19 million times.
