WASHINGTON, April 8 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is a huge fan of the HBO comedy series "Entourage," Politico reported.

The show stars Adrian Grenier as an actor from New York trying to navigate the treacherous waters of Hollywood, while Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara play his lifelong friends, and Jeremy Piven plays a fast-talking agent inspired by the real-life brother of Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

Obama is said to be a fan of the recently wrapped HBO crime drama "The Wire," too.

Politico said the newly elected president and father of two young girls also watches "Hannah Montana" and "SpongeBob SquarePants," as well as plenty of sporting events and ESPN but rarely tunes in to 24-hour cable news programs or replays of his speeches and news conferences.

"When you hear he likes 'Entourage,' you have to go, 'That figures,'" Robert Thompson, a professor of pop culture at Syracuse University, told Politico. "Anything Obama does is cool by definition. He's the Internet president, he's the BlackBerry president, and now, I suppose, he could be called the HBO president."
