Cannon says Carey a hit at the office

NEW YORK, March 14 (UPI) -- Actor Nick Cannon says his fellow Nickelodeon office workers go out of their way trying to catch a glimpse of his wife, singer Mariah Carey.

Cannon said since he began serving as a development consultant for Nickelodeon's TEENick TV network, several people at his office in New York's Viacom building have purposefully spent time lingering in his general vicinity, USA Today reported Thursday.

"I've got co-workers tip-toeing past my door pretending like they're using the copier, going in all of the pantries, but really they're just trying to see if Mariah is going to walk in. She comes by every once in a while, so they might catch her," said Cannon, 28.

Cannon, who married Carey last April, said he is not a huge fan of the corporate world, but is intent on helping TEENick appeal to young people.

"I'm not really into the whole corporate feel," Cannon, whose Nickelodeon deal was officially announced Thursday, told USA Today. "I need it to be comfortable. It needs to be a creative meeting space. This network is supposed to represent 'for young people by young people.'"
