LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, who is mourning the loss of his 18-year-old dog Loki, plans to get a new pup and name it Oscar, a source said.

Rourke, who has credited his dogs with seeing him through dark days when he was lonely and unemployed, was nominated for an Oscar for his work in "The Wrestler," but lost Sunday night to Sean Penn, the star of "Milk."

Walking down the red carpet Sunday, Rourke sported a pendant with Loki's picture on it. He also told reporters he had had a tiny tuxedo made for the Chihuahua before she died last week. On Saturday night, Rourke dedicated his Independent Spirit Award for best lead actor to his late pet.

"Mickey has other dogs, but he misses Loki terribly," a friend of the "Sin City" and "9 1/2 Weeks" actor told RadarOnline.com. "He doesn't want to wait long either -- he wants to get his new pooch this week. ... The new dog won't replace Loki, but by naming it Oscar Mickey says he'll make his comeback year even more special."
