SYDNEY, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Pop star Pink, actress Nicole Kidman and singer Leonard Cohen are among those contributing money to help victims of deadly Australian bush fires.

Pink gave $250,000 to a Red Cross appeal set up to aid those impacted by last week's bushfires, which left 200 people dead and destroyed 1,800 homes, the BBC said Tuesday.

"I've been really affected by the media images of the tragic bushfires in Victoria," Pink said in a posting on her Web site. "My heart goes out to all those who have suffered so much in these circumstances. There's little anyone can do at such a long distance away, but I wanted to make a tangible expression of support."

Last week, Cohen, and Kidman and her husband Keith Urban, also pledged money to the appeal, which the Red Cross said has raised $106 million, the BBC reported.

One man reportedly has been charged with arson in connection with a blaze.
