Disney-ABC TV slashing 400 jobs

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. television group Disney-ABC TV Thursday announced it is eliminating 400 jobs with layoffs expected across most divisions, Variety.com said.

"After months of making hard decisions across our businesses to help us adjust to a weakening economy, we're now faced with the harsh reality of having to eliminate jobs in some areas," Disney-ABC TV Group President Anne Sweeney said in a memo sent to staffers Thursday morning. "Change is never easy, and becomes even harder to embrace during times of turbulence and uncertainty."
