Report: Abdul fan died of drug overdose

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- The woman whom U.S. singer and television personality Paul Abdul has described as her stalker committed suicide via drug overdose, officials said.

The Los Angeles coroner's office told TMZ Tuesday that Paula Goodspeed killed herself by ingesting prescription drugs. The type and quantity of drugs Goodspeed consumed were not disclosed, the entertainment news Web site said.

Goodspeed, who had once auditioned for Abdul's singing competition show "American Idol," was found dead in her car outside of Abdul's Sherman Oaks home in November. She was 30.
