NASHVILLE, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Country music singer Marty Stuart says his new U.S. TV series on Rural Free Delivery TV is intended to bring fans' comments to the forefront of music.
The "Sweet Love" singer said with its evident hay bales and mix of comedy and country music, "The Marty Stuart Show" is focused on highlighting fans' concerns and opinions, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Sunday.
"Country music right now is at the place where it needs a couple of hay bales," Stuart said. "This is an unapologetic, take-it-to-the-people show. There are people out there in rural America that are being unattended to."
Stuart said he modeled the Saturday night series after shows such as "The Wilburn Brothers Show" and "The Porter Wagoner Show," resulting in a strong public following.
"The viewer response is off the charts," he told The Tennessean. "There are stacks of mail, as well as e-mail. A lot of people have longed for this kind of show again."
