Culkin sibling struck and killed by car

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Dakota Culkin, the sister of actors Macaulay, Rory and Keiran, has died of injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Los Angeles this week, TMZ said.

Culkin, 29, reportedly was hit Tuesday after she stepped off a curb. She was taken to UCLA Medical Center where she died Wednesday afternoon after suffering massive head trauma, police told People.com.

"We can officially confirm that the victim is Dakota Culkin. This is a terrible, tragic accident. We have no further comment at this time," a representative for Macaulay Culkin said in a statement issued to TMZ.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Richard French told People.com: "The driver stopped, rendered aid and identified himself as required by law. Detectives determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and that no crime was committed."
