Good Charlotte grooves on remix album

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- U.S. rockers Good Charlotte had no problem turning over their old songs recast in dance versions for their new album, "The Greatest Remixes."

"Everybody likes to dance -- even kids who like rock music," says singer Joel Madden. "It's about forgetting everything that you love or hate or whatever and just having a good time -- and remembering that's why we all do this in the first place."

His twin brother, guitarist Benji Madden, adds, "you got into music in the garage when you were 16 because there were no rules, and that's why you were there. Just because you have some success doesn't mean you have to follow a whole bunch of rules, y'know?"

"The Greatest Remixes" features 14 Good Charlotte songs treated by remixers such as Junior Sanchez, Teddy Riley and members of Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park, The Academy Is ... and others. The Maddens, under the moniker Dead Executives, remix one of the songs themselves and also wrote a new track, "Anxiety," for the album. Five extra songs are available on the iTunes version of the album.
