The book will include a 3-step diet program and 75 vegan and macrobiotic recipes.

"We were equally struck by the breadth of her knowledge about environmental issues and the impact of diet on the planet as we were by the depth of her commitment to these very important causes," publishing director Pam Krauss said in a statement. "Just as importantly, she really makes the plant-based foods that are the cornerstone of her diet sound delicious and indulgent, and her enthusiasm for her program is infectious."

Silverstone is best known for her work in the films "Clueless," "Excess Baggage," "Batman and Robin" and "Blast From the Past."

Rodale describes itself as "a global media company with a heritage, mission, and authority dedicated to the health and wellness of the individual, community and planet."
