LOS ANGELES, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Pop star Beyonce says she would be perfect for the role of Wonder Woman in a rumored Hollywood production about the comic book super heroine.
With Wonder Woman among the litany of comic book heroes being considered by Hollywood studios for a big-screen interpretation, the "Dangerously in Love" star suggested she would be an ideal candidate to twirl the fictional character's famed lasso, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.
"I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great," Beyonce said. "And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?"
The 27-year-old pop star, whose full name is Beyonce Giselle Knowles, said she was inspired to take on the super heroine challenge after seeing the Wonder Woman costume worn by actress Lynda Carter in a 1970s TV production.
"I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume," Knowles told the Times about the skin-tight costume. "The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine. She was amazing."
