LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Taylor Momsen's doctor said the U.S. television actress has been hospitalized with a serious throat infection but is expected to make a full recovery.
Momsen, 15, is best known for her work on the teen soap "Gossip Girl."
"She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday," Dr. Shawn Nasseri said in a letter given Wednesday to People magazine by Momsen's manager. "After aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days."
The CW said in a statement issued to People that the actress plans to get back to work this week.
"Taylor Momsen is a beloved member of our 'Gossip Girl' cast and we are happy to report she is on the road to a speedy recovery," the CW statement said. "We all look forward to her planned return to work on Friday."
