LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- U.S. jeweler Martin Katz said he has collaborated with the lingerie giant Victoria's Secret on the Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra, worth $5 million.
Katz's creation contains 3,900 gems and weighs 1,500-carats in its entirety. Two black diamonds, a combined total of 100-carats, serve as the focal point of the piece, which is adorned in smaller black diamonds, brilliant white diamonds and rubies.
"This year, I've really enjoyed working with non-traditional gems," Katz said in a statement. "So, what better avenue, to showcase nearly 3,600 black diamonds than on the most extravagant holiday gift: the Victoria Secret Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra. And designing it for a gorgeous Brazilian supermodel wasn't exactly a let-down either."
Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima was chosen to model this year's fantasy bra in the company's Christmas Dreams & Fantasies catalog, as well as on the runway at the 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, scheduled to air on CBS Dec. 3.
"It really is an honor to be wearing a Victoria's Secret fantasy bra," Lima said. "I'm also very happy that Martin Katz designed this year's bra. Everything he creates is a piece of art and this bra is especially exquisite. I'm can't wait to walk down the runway in this at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show."
