NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Anne Hathaway says she's glad people like her performance in "Rachel Getting Married," but thinks it's too early for Oscar talk.

Hathaway's portrayal of a recovering drug addict who returns home and wreaks havoc on her sister's wedding has been generating awards-season buzz since the movie screened last month at the Toronto and Venice film festivals.

"I don't wake up every morning and go, 'Buzz!' It's not like it's present, but when I do press people ask about it, so then I do think about it and it's delightful. Who doesn't want to hear that people consider their performance nomination worthy? But it is September," Hathaway told UPI in New York last week. "Did you ever hear when you were in school that the guy that you liked was going to ask you to prom, but you heard it like on the first day of school? Yeah, that's kind of what it feels like. You're just like, 'Well, that would be cool, but it's really far from the reality I should have any kind of emotion about.' But, sure, it makes me feel good."
