LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd performed as the Blues Brothers at a Los Angeles memorial for famed Hollywood producer and talent manager Bernie Brillstein.
Brillstein died last week at the age of 77.

Aykroyd and Belushi's late brother, John, created the singing alter egos back in the 1970s and performed as the characters on "Saturday Night Live" and in the 1980 movie, "The Blues Brothers," which Brillstein executive produced. "SNL" creator Lorne Michaels also was a long-time client of Brillstein's, as were Aykroyd and John Belushi.
Variety.com said comedian Martin Short presided over the two-hour-long memorial Monday night at UCLA's Royce Hall.
"He used to say to me, 'Kid, I'm going to get you a gig at Royce Hall if it kills me,'" Short told the star-studded crowd.
Michaels, Bill Maher, Jennifer Aniston, Norm Crosby, Jon Lovitz, Sandy Wernick, Abe Hoch, Jerry Weintraub, John Larroquette, Rob Lowe, Alan Zweibel and Brillstein Entertainment Partners' CEO Jon Liebman also spoke at the event, Variety.com said.

The memorial ended with Kermit the Frog singing "Rainbow Connection," a fitting tribute since late Muppet creator Jim Henson was another of Brillstein's famous clients.
