'Mad Men' grabs 16 Emmy nods

LOS ANGELES, July 17 (UPI) -- The AMC show "Mad Men" was nominated for 16 Emmy Awards, including the one for outstanding drama series, in Los Angeles Thursday.

Also nominated in the top drama race are "Boston Legal," "Damages," "Dexter," "House" and "Lost."

Shortlisted for the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a drama series are James Spader from "Boston Legal," Bryan Cranston from "Breaking Bad," Michael C. Hall from "Dexter," Hugh Laurie from "House," Gabriel Byrne from "In Treatment" and Jon Hamm from "Mad Men."

Vying for the prize in the lead actress category are Sally Field from "Brothers & Sisters," Kyra Sedgwick from "The Closer," Glenn Close from "Damages," Mariska Hargitay from "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and Holly Hunter from "Saving Grace."

Nominated for the supporting actor in a drama Emmy are William Shatner from "Boston Legal," Ted Danson and Zeljko Ivanek from "Damages," Michael Emerson from "Lost" and John Slattery from "Mad Men."

The nominees in the supporting actress category are Candice Bergen from "Boston Legal," Rachel Griffiths from "Brothers & Sisters," Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh from "Grey's Anatomy," and Dianne Wiest from "In Treatment."
