'30 Rock' nominated for 17 Emmys

LOS ANGELES, July 17 (UPI) -- "30 Rock" was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards, including the one for outstanding comedy series, Thursday in Los Angeles.

The show also garnered nods for its stars Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey in the lead actor and actress in a comedy series categories.

Also nominated for lead actor along with Baldwin are Tony Shalhoub from "Monk," Steve Carell from "The Office," Lee Pace from "Pushing Daisies" and Charlie Sheen from "Two and a Half Men."

Competing with Fey for the lead actress Emmy are Julia Louis-Dreyfus from "The New Adventures Of Old Christine," Christina Applegate from "Samantha Who," America Ferrera from "Ugly Betty" and Mary-Louise Parker from "Weeds."

Jeremy Piven and Kevin Dillon from "Entourage," Neil Patrick Harris from "How I Met Your Mother," Rainn Wilson from "The Office" and Jon Cryer from "Two and a Half Men" were nominated in the outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series category.

Vying for the equivalent actress Emmy are Kristin Chenoweth from "Pushing Daisies," Jean Smart from "Samantha Who," Amy Poehler from "Saturday Night Live," Holland Taylor from "Two and a Half Men" and Vanessa Williams from "Ugly Betty."

Nominated for outstanding comedy series, along with "30 Rock," are "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Two And A Half Men."
