BOULDER, Colo., July 16 (UPI) -- A warrant is to be issued for the arrest of former U.S. television actor Brian Bonsall for allegedly violating terms of his probation, a court official says.
Bonsall, now 26, is best known for playing the younger brother of Michael J. Fox's character on the 1980s sit-com "Family Ties."
The Boulder (Colo.) Daily Camera reported that Boulder County Chief Judge Roxanne Bailin plans to issue a bench warrant for Bonsall because the Boulder resident failed to appear for a court hearing Wednesday morning.
Bonsall was sentenced last August to two years of probation for assaulting his girlfriend.
The newspaper said he was subsequently accused of violating the conditions of his probation by neglecting to pay for domestic-violence classes, skipping daily breathalyzer tests and failing to submit a positive breath test.
Court Clerk Debra Crosser told the Daily Camera the warrant for Bonsall's arrest would probably be issued Thursday morning at the latest.
