LONDON, July 7 (UPI) -- Christopher Ciccone reportedly claims in his new memoir, "Life With My Sister Madonna," that the U.S. pop star kissed actress Gwyneth Paltrow on the lips.

Madonna and Paltrow are both Americans married to British celebrities, and both split their time between England and the United States. They have long been friends.

The Sun newspaper ran an excerpt from Ciccone's biography that described Madonna dancing on a table at designer Donatella Versace's New Year's Eve party. Ciccone wrote that his sister dragged Paltrow up to join her, pulled her face to hers and gave her a steamy kiss on the lips.

Madonna made headlines in 2003 when she smooched fledgling pop stars Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the MTV Movie awards show.

Ciccone's book is set for release July 15.

Paltrow won the best actress Oscar for the 1998 comedy "Shakespeare in Love." Her other film credits include "Iron Man," "Sliding Doors," "Possession" and "Great Expectations."
