ESPN finalizes 'SportsCenter' anchor teams

NEW YORK, June 21 (UPI) -- Josh Elliott and Linda Cohn are among the sports journalists named to serve as the new anchors for the U.S. TV show "SportsCenter," ESPN officials say.

Officials with the popular cable television network said they have finalized the anchor spots for "SportsCenter" once the all-sports news show officially goes live during weekday mornings in August, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The 9 a.m. through noon edition will be anchored by Elliot and former NBC Sports reporter Hannah Storm, whose anchor role was announced in May.

Cohn and Steve Berthiaume will anchor the 6 a.m. through 9 a.m. edition of "SportsCenter," while the noon through 3 p.m. shift will be anchored by Chris McKendry and Robert Flores.

During the fall, Storm will be replaced on Friday broadcasts by Sage Steele. Instead, the CBS "Early Show" anchor will host an early Sunday edition of "SportsCenter" during the NFL season.

The live editions of the show are scheduled to begin on Aug. 11, the same week as the Beijing Olympic Games are scheduled to start, the Reporter said.
