Rogers selling Atlanta home for $7.95M

ATLANTA, May 24 (UPI) -- Kenny Rogers is selling his 9,000-square-foot home in Atlanta for $7.95 million so he can relocate to a new Georgia estate, the country singer says.

The "Coward of the County" singer said his experiences from traveling around the world are visible in his Atlanta home, which he transformed to meet his personal tastes, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Thursday.

"I touched every inch of this house," Rogers said of his home decorating efforts.

Rogers told the Journal-Constitution he plans to relocate with his family to a new 150-acre estate in Nicholson, Ga. The large residence is under construction while Rogers' six-bedroom Atlanta home is on the market.

For the 69-year-old singer, completing his new home is vital given his 4-year-old twin sons.

"When it was just Wanda and me, we didn't care where we were," Rogers said. "Now that the boys are here, she has to stay here and I have to go on the road by myself. And it's a totally different feeling out there without her. You can't pull the boys around the world. ... You have to prioritize and I'd much rather be with my family."
