'Y&R' up for 17 Daytime Emmys

NEW YORK, April 30 (UPI) -- The soap opera "The Young and the Restless" garnered 17 nods when nominations for Daytime Emmy Awards were announced in New York Wednesday.

"Guiding Light," "One Life to Live" and "Sesame Street" were each nominated for 13 prizes, while "As the World Turns" earned 12 nods, Variety.com reported.

Competing in the drama series category are "General Hospital," "Guiding Light," "One Life to Live" and "The Young and the Restless."

The nominees for Talk Show/Entertainment are "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Rachael Ray" and "The View."

Ellen DeGeneres of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa of "Live with Regis and Kelly," and Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd of "The View" were nominated for Talkshow Host.

Nominated for the Emmy for Game/Audience Participation Show were "Cash Cab," "Jeopardy!" and "The Price Is Right."

"Design Squad," "Greatest Inventions with Bill Nye," "Jack Hanna's Into the Wild" and "Postcards from Buster" are all up for the award for Children's Series.

"A Place of Our Own/Los ninos en su casa," "Dr. Phil" and "The Tyra Banks Show" were nominated for Talk Show/Informative.

"American Morning," "Good Morning America" and "Today" are in the running for the Morning Program Emmy.
