Lambert accuser arrested for false report

TYLER, Texas, April 25 (UPI) -- Tyler, Texas, officials Friday said allegations that country star Miranda Lambert assaulted a fan are untrue.

Aisha Esbay told police this week that Lambert became abusive and shoved her several times after she asked for an autograph, People magazine reported.

However, after an investigation that lasted "numerous hours," authorities found Esbay's story to be "completely false," said a statement released Friday by the Smith County Sheriff's office.

Esbay was arrested and jailed for making a false police report and all charges against Lambert were dropped, the statement said.
