LOS ANGELES, April 9 (UPI) -- Two people sustained moderate injuries in a head-on collision in front of the California set where a "Star Trek" prequel is being filmed, police said.

The California Highway Patrol told KERO-TV, Bakersfield, Calif., the film's site manager tried to turn onto a road near Highway 119 and Enos Lane -- just outside of Bakersfield -- where filming was set to take place, but instead crossed in front of oncoming traffic and collided with a truck.

The driver of the truck and a passenger in the car were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The accident did not disrupt filming, KERO-TV said.

Crew members at the site declined to comment on the incident.

Starring Eric Bana, Chris Pine and Simon Pegg, the film is due out in theaters next year.
