NEW YORK, March 20 (UPI) -- The creative team behind the hit U.S. television miniseries "Tin Man" is reuniting for a contemporary retelling of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

Writer-director Nick Willing and executive producers Robert Halmi Sr. and Robert Halmi Jr. are working on "Alice," a six-hour miniseries for the SCI FI Channel, the network said.

"Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is Lewis Carroll's classic children's book about a young girl transported through a rabbit hole to a topsy-turvy fantasy world.

"Tin Man," which aired last year, put a fresh spin on "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" tale. It was the most watched program in SCI FI Channel's history, the network said.
