"Fringe" is a $10 million, two-hour Fox pilot for a science-fiction drama co-created by Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and helmed by "Journeyman" and "The West Wing" director Alex Graves.

Kurtzman and Orci previously worked with Abrams on the TV series "Alias," and the films "Mission: Impossible III" and "Star Trek."

"Fringe," which will star Jackson, Blair Brown, Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo and Jasika Nicole, is now shooting in Toronto, The Hollywood Reporter said.

It has been described as the story of an FBI agent who works with institutionalized scientists to try to explain unexplained phenomena.
