LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Kate Hudson said her new adventure movie "Fool's Gold" challenged her to do some of her own stunts and conquer a few of her fears.
"I would sit on the edge of the boat and I'd be like -- 'I don't know why am I doing this. I don't want to get in the water,' " she told reporters in Los Angeles. "I'd look down and I'd see a 3-and-a-half-foot angel fish. I'd be like -- 'I'm not supposed to know about this! I don't care about it, I don't want to know.' And then the second I got under water I was like -- 'Oh, wait a minute. I want to know about all of this stuff.' "
Hudson admitted she became less daring after her 4-year-old son Ryder was born.
"I got terrified of everything and, in the process of being on this movie, what I was going through at that time was really getting over a lot of my phobias because you realize that you don't want your children to think there's things to be fearful of. ... I want (Ryder) to grow up going, 'Mom scuba dives and she skis and she's active and she's not afraid.' "
