ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Minnesota author and radio personality Garrison Keillor has reportedly dropped his restraining order against a Georgia fan he said stalked him.
Keillor was granted a restraining order against Andrea R. Campbell last year after he filed court papers complaining Campbell wrote him numerous e-mail messages, showed up at his home and sent him "unusual and unwanted items" like a petrified alligator's foot and dead beetles.
Campbell had appealed the restraining order and the two parties were scheduled to appear in Ramsey County District Court Monday, however, the hearing was canceled after Keillor and Campbell agreed to dismiss "all claims of this action," the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Wednesday.
"The parties mutually agreed to dismiss based on Ms. Campbell's commitment not to have further contact with Mr. Keillor," mary Stumo, Keillor's lawyer told the newspaper.
"I guess he felt he couldn't defend what he had put in the affidavit, and I guess he realized it was all just a big misunderstanding," Campbell said.
Keillor is the host of Minnesota Public Radio's "A Prairie Home Companion."
