LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A video shot in 2004 showing Hollywood actor Tom Cruise passionately discussing his beliefs in Scientology is making the rounds on the Internet.
"I think it's a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist and it's something you have to earn," Cruise declared in the video, which CNN said first appeared on YouTube, but has since been yanked.
It can still be viewed, however, on gawker.com.
"When you're a Scientologist and you drive by an accident, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you're the only one who can really help," Cruise said on the tape. "We are the way to happiness. We can bring peace and unite cultures."
The actor appears to be answering questions in the video although no interviewer is seen or heard in the footage.
While Church of Scientology officials told CNN the video can be watched at any of its churches, the video attracted a lot of attention this week when it hit the Web. The church told CNN the copy that can be viewed online is a pirated and edited version of the footage.
