Keillor riled over neighbor's new garage

ST. PAUL , Minn., Jan. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. author and radio personality Garrison Keillor is unhappy with the home companion a neighbor is building seven feet from his manor.

A Minnesota judge Tuesday continued Keillor's case against his neighbor, Lori Anderson, and her fiance, Paul Olson, until Jan. 23, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported Wednesday.

Keillor, the host of Minnesota Public Radio's "A Prairie Home Companion," is suing to halt construction on the couple's new three-stall, two-story garage, which the celebrity has complained will "impair an adequate supply of light and air" to his property, the newspaper said.

However, Olson and Anderson maintain they have all the permits and variances necessary to complete the project.

The judge overseeing the case said all parties involved had agreed to enter into mediation.

"I recommended a resolution short of court intervention," Judge Edward Clary said, adding he hoped the two sides would be able to reach an agreement by their next court date.

Work on the garage was suspended until the next hearing, the Pioneer Press said.
