Paramount changes executive line-up

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey has reshuffled the U.S. studio's executive hierarchy following nearly a month of preparations.

After several weeks of preparations by the Paramount chief executive officer, the studio has promoted Paramount Vintage standout John Lesher to head up all of the group's film efforts, The Hollywood Reporter said Saturday.

Rob Moore, who helped rebuild Paramount Home Entertainment in 2007, also consolidated his standing with the successful entertainment group through the executive reshuffling.

Meanwhile, the studio's president of production, Brad Weston, will now report directly to Lesher rather than Grey, but will begin work with MTV Films and Nick Movies.

Grey said Friday his decision to reshuffle the studio's executives was based on a desire to solidify the entertainment group for this year.

"Just in terms of constancy, in terms of running the studio, this is solidifying what has become a strong, senior executive team. The promotions and responsibilities have been well-earned," Grey said. "I see it as a team that will build on the foundation we have with a strong year last year and a strong slate for the coming year."
