Billy Connolly in car accident, uninjured

BALLATER, Scotland, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Scottish actor and comedian Billy Connolly reportedly escaped injury when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash on the A939 near Ballater.

The 65-year-old actor was driving a Land Rover at the time of the Sunday afternoon incident and was unhurt in the crash, the BBC said.

Grampian Police reported numerous accidents as a result of icy conditions throughout the region of Aberdeenshire.

Connolly, the star of "The Last Samurai," "The Boondock Saints," "Mrs. Brown" and "Muppet Treasure Island," has a home in Candacraig, the BBC said.
