LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Jamie Lynn Spears didn't tell her older sister Britney she was pregnant, a family friend told People magazine.
News that the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" actress is pregnant broke Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's publication of an OK! magazine interview with Jamie Lynn and her mother.
Britney Spears, however, found out through the media that she is going to be an aunt, the
family friend said.
"This is going to kill her," the friend told People. "In the end, she'll be supportive, but this is a big shock."
A second insider said the sisters aren't estranged but admitted Jamie Lynn's camp has tried to keep her away Britney, whose alleged hard-partying ways and irresponsible parenting have drawn criticism and made headlines all year.
"Britney doesn't have to listen to anyone now but her sister still does so who knows what people are telling her," the source said. "She has her career now, too."
