Foxy Brown plays it down in court

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Rapper Foxy Brown, known as much for her outrageous attire as she is for her music, sported a classy new look at a recent court appearance in New York.

The recording artist whose real name is Inga Marchand said she had been humbled by her time in prison on New York's Rikers Island, the New York Post reported Tuesday. The singer was sentenced Sept. 8 to a year in prison for probation violations.

At a court appearance Monday, Marchand work black pants, black suede

mules and a white blazer.

She has previously shown up in court batting false eyelashes, while wearing lots of makeup, cleavage-bearing tops, tight jeans and high heels.

"(Foxy) told me, 'Sometimes God has to humble you in order for you to realize who you actually are,'" her attorney, state Sen. John Sampson, told the Post after the hearing.

"When you get away from the glitz and glamor, you can find inner peace within yourself."
