NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- The New York Film Critics Circle has named the Coen brothers' "No Country for Old Men" the best picture of 2007.
Joel and Ethan Coen share the prizes for best director and best screenplay, while one of the film's stars, Javier Bardem, won the award for best supporting actor.
"There Will be Blood" earned the honors for best actor for star Daniel Day-Lewis, as well as for best cinematography for Robert Elswit.
"Away from Her" also earned two awards -- Julie Christie prevailed in the best actress category and director Sarah Polley won for best first film.
Amy Ryan was named best supporting actress for her work in "Gone Baby Gone"; "Persepolis" won the award for best animated film; "No End in Sight" took the prize for best non-fiction film and "The Lives of Others" earned the best foreign-language film accolade.
The Circle's awards ceremony is slated to take place in New York City on Jan. 6.
