LOS ANGELES, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Film Critics Association has named "There Will Be Blood" best picture of 2007, the organization announced Sunday.
Writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of Upton Sinclair's novel about the early days of the U.S. oil industry took four prizes in all -- including best director for Anderson, best actor for Daniel Day-Lewis and production design for Jack Fisk.
The runner-up for best picture was "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly."
Marion Cotillard was named best actress for "La Vie en Rose."
Tamara Jenkins won the screenplay award for her family drama-comedy, "The Savages."
Amy Ryan of "Gone Baby Gone" and "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" won for supporting actress and Vlad Ivanov was named best supporting actor for "4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days" -- which also was named best foreign language film.
"No End in Sight," director Charles Ferguson's examination of the Iraq War, was named best documentary.
"Ratatouille" and "Persepolis" shared the award for best animation.
LAFCA will present its 33rd annual awards Jan. 12 in Los Angeles.
