Go Daddy plans to advertise on Super Bowl

SCOTTSDALE , Ariz., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. domain-name registrar Go Daddy Group Inc., known for its provocative ads, plans to advertise during the 2008 Super Bowl.

However, Fox network censors have already shot down at least two proposed commercials, deeming them "in poor taste," The Arizona Republic reported Wednesday.

The good news is the Arizona company isn't losing too much money on the ad ideas because it is submitting story boards of the commercials for approval before actually shooting them. If and when a concept is approved, Go Daddy will proceed, the newspaper said.

One of the rejected ad ideas gave a nod to a reported airport rest room sex scandal involving Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho.

The commercial would have shown two Go Daddy Girls in bathroom stalls, tapping their feet, then looking over the stalls to see each other, only to find actor Booth Coleman in the toilet between them.

A fixture in Go Daddy commercials, Coleman would have been sporting the same shoes and pink socks the women are wearing.

Fox also rejected a parody of the iconic scene of actress Marilyn Monroe standing over a grate with her dress blowing up. Coleman would have starred in that ad, as well.
