Foxy Brown out of segregated cell

NEW YORK, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Jailed rap artist Foxy Brown has been placed back into the general population after spending 40 days in a segregated cell, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, had been ordered to serve 76 days in the segregated cell for fighting, verbally abusing guards and refusing to take a drug test.

She was let out of the cell at the Rose M. Singer facility on Rikers Island early for good behavior, but is still in protective custody, a common practice for high-profile inmates, the Post said.

The singer was sentenced on Sept. 8 to a year in prison for probation violations.
