King loves new 'Mist' ending

NEW YORK, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. author Stephen King says he loves the new ending writer-director Frank Darabont came up with for his film adaptation of King's novella, "The Mist."

"Frank wrote a new ending that I loved," King told reporters in New York Monday. "It is the most shocking ending ever and there should be a law passed stating that anybody who reveals the last five minutes of this film should be hung from their neck until dead."

Co-starring Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Andre Braugher, Laurie Holden, Toby Jones, William Sadler and Frances Sternhagen, the film is scheduled to open in the United States on Nov. 21.

Darabont also directed the films "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank Redemption," both of which were based on works by King.
