Matt, 'Bourne' lead People's Choice nods

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- U.S. actor Matt Damon and his Hollywood blockbuster "The Bourne Ultimatum" lead the field of nominations for the 34th People's Choice Awards.

The thriller has been nominated in the categories for favorite movie, action movie and "threequel," while Damon got the nod for favorite male action star.

Other multiple nominees include "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "Transformers," which will challenge "Bourne" for the favorite movie title, People.com reported.

Damon will have to fight off Bruce Willis and Johnny Depp if he wants the favorite male action star honor.

Willis and Depp are also competing with Denzel Washington for the favorite movie star award.

Jessica Alba also earned nods for favorite leading lady and female action star, while "American Idol," "Dancing with the Stars" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" will vie for the prize in the favorite competition/reality show category.

The winners will be announced on a CBS telecast on Jan. 8.
