Robert Goulet dead at 73

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Famed Las Vegas performer Robert Goulet has died, KLAS-TV reported Tuesday. He was 73.

Reports published last week said Goulet was in critical condition in a Los Angeles hospital as he waited for a lung transplant.

He had been suffering from rapidly progressive pulmonary fibrosis.

His wife of 25 years, Vera Goulet, was holding his hand when he died, the television station said.

Robert Goulet is survived by his wife, two sons: Christopher and Michael; a daughter, Nicolette; and two grandchildren: Jordan and Solange.

Details of his memorial service will be released at a later date.

The singer first became famous in 1960 when he performed in the popular Broadway musical, "Camelot."

He has won Grammy, Tony and Emmy awards.
